Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 21, 2026

This policy covers Quant Data Backup, a personal desktop utility operated by Xavier Liang, and its informational website at quant.nocrewlab.com.

Data the application accesses

• Google account email and storage quota: read through the Drive API to identify the connected account and display storage capacity.
• App-authorized Drive files and metadata: file and folder identifiers, names, sizes, checksums, and contents needed to create, compare, update, and verify backups.
• Selected local research files: historical market-data files and associated backup metadata from the configured local data directory.
• OAuth credentials: authorization tokens used to maintain the connection. Google handles account sign-in; the application does not receive your Google password.

Permissions and purpose

The application requests https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This allows access to files it creates and files you explicitly grant to the application. It does not request permission to read or manage every file in your Google Drive.

Google user data is used only to connect the selected account, manage the application's backup files, report backup status, and check transfer integrity. The application does not access Gmail, contacts, or calendars.

Storage and protection

OAuth tokens, account information, backup settings, file-hash caches, and task logs are stored locally in the application state directory. Credential files have restrictive operating-system permissions. They are not uploaded as part of market-data backups.

Backup contents, manifests, and retained earlier versions are stored in your Google Drive. Requests to Google use HTTPS. Backup files remain private unless you change their sharing settings. The application does not add a separate end-to-end encryption layer; Google Drive's storage protections apply.

Sharing and service providers

The application does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. It does not send backup contents or OAuth tokens through Composio or the website host. Google processes the files and API requests needed to provide Drive storage.

The informational website is hosted by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard web-request information, such as IP addresses and technical request logs, to deliver and protect the website. We have not added advertising, analytics scripts, contact forms, or application tracking cookies.

For provider practices, see Google's Privacy Policy and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. If you contact the operator by email, the email provider processes that correspondence. Do not send access tokens, passwords, or backup files by email.

Retention and deletion

Local settings, credentials, caches, and logs remain until you remove them. Cloud backups and retained earlier versions remain in your Drive until you delete them. This application does not automatically delete extra cloud files or prune earlier versions.

You can pause backups in the local application and revoke its access through your Google Account's third-party connections. Revoking access prevents future authorized requests; it does not delete files already backed up.

To remove stored backup data, delete the application's backup folder and retained versions in Google Drive, and use Drive's deletion controls as needed. After stopping local tasks, remove the application's local credential and state files if you also want to remove the local connection and records. Contact the operator for assistance.

Google API Limited Use

Quant Data Backup's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes and contact

This page will be updated if the application's data practices change. The effective date identifies the current policy.
